Load testing apps tend to use different metrics and timers, you'll find a wide disparity in the type of results you get, however what you should be hoping to see is a similar reuaslts curve across the tests.

accelerators can help mask such shortcomings to a degree however for internet/intranet facing applications you can only guarantee performance up to the point of leaving the data centre.GooD luck

A good blog! Recent technology advances like WAN accelerators can help mask such shortcomings to a degree however for internet/intranet facing applications you can only guarantee performance up to the point of leaving the data centre.

I think, this theme is quite actual now. It is also good to emphasise that a tool is only as good as the person who is going to use it!

Very good article! Simple, short and well explained.

Some comments:

1.	It is also good to emphasise that a tool is only as good as the person who is going to use it!

2.	In regards to data preparation I would mention the issue of data caching as well. Also having the different system components bounced before test execution is good practice.

3.	The concept of concurrency and transactional throughput is very often not understood well. The same with “pacing” the load. Might be good to add this to this article 

Well done,

Hi Michael - you are correct - I took these screenshots from one of your public pages. Sorry for not mentioning your tool explicitly. There are many great tools out there that do a damn good job in generating load and providing good high-level analysis as indicated in my paper - yours is one of them :-)
